About Jason Cohen
It didn’t come as a surprise to anyone when I became a Certified Canine Training and Behavior Specialist. Wherever I go, it seems that dogs come to meet me. It started back when I was 9 years old living in Israel. One by one by one these dogs were following me and before i knew it, I had a pack of local strays to keep me company.
More recently, I was lucky to have a very spirited rescue dog I named Cheddar. As he grew up he started exhibiting signs of leash aggression. After approaching a few different dog trainers and working with Cheddar myself, I was inspired to help other dogs and their owners.
I started by volunteering with Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue after adopting my current dog Karma from them. I realized that helping humans and dogs communicate better is the best way to saving these amazing dogs' lives, I decided being a Dog Trainer is the path for me.
This brought me to the largest, and most comprehensive dog training school in the world, Starmark Academy, where I graduated from the Canine Training and Behavior Specialist Program.
I love dogs and believe that they deserve to have the best lives possible. That’s why I apply the best training techniques to motivate your dog, inspire you as a dog owner and help foster a better relationship between you both.
I believe in always training the dog in front of you, and understanding that no two dogs are the same. In order to focus on your individual dog and your specific goals, I break down the process into three parts:
Bark is the problem we want to solve. Whether it's jumping, pulling on the leash, not coming when called, separation anxiety, aggression, or incessant barking, we start by finding your dogs motivation.
Train is how we fix the communication gap between you and your dog. Most issues can be resolved with positive, motivational training and behavior modification. With the right timing, consistency, and tools, getting everyone on the same page can be easier than you think.
Love is what we all want to give our dogs, but there has to be balance. Through physical and mental exercise, communication and building a reward history of good behavior, we can help you develop a healthy relationship with your dog.
Does your dog pull you down the street? Bark at every sight and sound? Jump up on people and things? I offer both private and group dog training solutions for a range of dog issues from puppy training and skills to everything from excessive barking, digging and chewing, anxiety and more. Whether your dog has dangerous habits like biting or aggression, or you simply want to learn the basics to groom a well-behaved pup, I can help.
